Reservoir of Grief

Grain by grain, pebble by pebble, drop by drop

Building up, bit by bit behind the wall

No door, no drain, no crack

To relieve the increasing pressure

Sometimes, a sudden splash,

A spreading ripple

 And a few drops escape

A ray of warm sunshine

And a little bit evaporates

But mostly, just waiting

Muscles tense, anxious

For the finale deluge of rain,

Or a last boulder to roll in

To break the wall, and let the flood escape

I came on here this evening thinking about posting something similar. I just felt absolutely snowed by grief today. I miss her so much. :-/
